534 WILD HERITAGE HORSES SLAUGHTERED IN 15 DAYS
March 20, 2024:
Australia’s iconic wild heritage horses, including foals, are currently being gunned down from helicopters in the Kosciuszko National Park (KNP).
534 majestic Brumbies, living symbols of Australia’s heritage, have been brutally slaughtered in the KNP over the last 15 days — with approval from MP Penny Sharpe.
This horrifying number doesn’t even include the hundreds tragically shot in weeks previous.
BRUMBY MASSACRE ESCALATES ON APRIL 4TH

The nightmare isn’t over. On April 4th, the barbaric slaughter will escalate.
KNP’s north section will be shut down for 7 months to wipe out the remaining 85% of these magnificent creatures.
It’s important to note that a government mandate stipulates 3,000 horses are to remain in the KNP – yet before this massacre started — expert biostatisticians stated the number of horses the government claims are in the park are wildly inflated.
According to experts there may have been fewer than 3,o00 horses in the park BEFORE this slaughter began. A high tech independent count suggest the number may be closer to 1,200.
So, this isn’t just a cull; it’s a senseless eradication of a living legacy. Please, raise your voice for these wild horses before it’s too late.
INFLATED BRUMBY NUMBERS = ERADICATION OF A LEGACY
The NSW government, Parks NSW, and the Invasive Species Council (ISC) have launched a PR campaign portraying the slaughter of Brumbies as necessary and humane. They are painting advocates for Brumbies as a “fragmented fringe group of extremist nutters” yet…
Again, remember experts disagree with the government’s population estimates, questioning the drastic measures.
Your support is urgently needed to halt this inhumane cull and demand non-lethal alternatives.
But please hurry because this barbaric slaughtering of Brumbies is set to escalate at an even more staggering pace on April 4th.
EXPERT TESTIMONY PROVES TORTUOUS DEATHS
While spokespeople for Australia's National Parks and politicians like Labour Minister Penny Sharpe have defended aerial shooting of Brumbies as humane, we urge you to consider recent testimony presented during a NSW Animal Welfare Committee public hearing/investigation.
The investigation focused on the proposed aerial cull of wild horses in Kosciuszko National Park (KNP).
However, concerns have been raised as there was already a "trial" cull during foaling season, tragically resulting in the deaths of foals - yes, baby horses were slaughtered.
In the video above, Ms. Ward cites a specific instance where horses were pursued by 3 helicopters and shot for a total of 9 minutes.
Additionally, she states that most of the shots didn't immediately render the horses insensible - deaths were slow, required multiple shots and were certainly NOT humane.
DEMAND NON-LETHAL ALTERNATIVES
Join us in calling on the government of New South Wales, Australia to stop shooting down Brumbies from helicopters and to instead use humane, non lethal, alternatives. Your email or phone call does not have to be fancy - you simply have to say that you oppose the slaughtering of Brumbies. If you are emailing please be sure to include your full name, address and phone number.
QUOTED INCREASES IN BRUMBY POPULATIONS
STATISTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE
March 20, 2024: The NSW government slaughtered 534 wild horses in the KNP in the last 15 DAYS with an acceleration of slaughtering starting April 4th -- but reports suggest their population estimates are wildly inaccurate.
Rocky Harvey is on a mission to stop this unnecessary slaughter. He's raising funds for an independent population survey. This data is critical to challenging the ongoing slaughter and saving these magnificent horses.
PROTEST TO KEEP KNP OPEN &
STOP THE SLAUGHTER OF WILD HORSES
Kosciuszko National Park’s north section faces a 7-month closure (starting April 4th) for an inhumane, barbaric, wild horse cull.
Join a peaceful protest Easter Sunday, 11 am @ Port Phillip Fire Trail & Long Plain Rd. (Campout welcome!) Organised by Dick Roberts.
The goal is to keep the park open and fight for humane non-lethal alternatives to slaughtering Brumbies.

HELP STOP THE BARBARIC INHUMANE SLAUGHTER
OF ICONIC WORLD FAMOUS BRUMBIES
There is nothing humane about “culling”, AKA the aerial shooting – no let’s call it what it really is – the barbaric, inhumane slaughtering of wild heritage horses – including foals. Please don’t be fooled by officials who try to tell you otherwise.
AGAIN, please join us in calling on the government of New South Wales to stop slaughtering our wild horses and to instead use humane, non-lethal, alternatives.
