At Meet Our Horse Meat we are accosted with “whataboutism” on an almost daily basis.  At times it feels like we can’t please anyone.

We know that people are starving, people are dying of heart attacks, athletes are dying, women are being denied lifesaving abortions — and so much more.

It’s hard to take when we are accused of not caring about issues not related to horses but it is even harder when we are accused of not caring about issues related to various wrongdoings when it comes to horses..

For example, if we post about horse racing wrongdoings we are accused of not caring about the atrocities being carried out against Brumbies.

On the other hand…

If we post about how Brumbies have been and continue to be systematically slaughtered – taking on average 7 to 15 shots before they die – which of course is so far from humane it’s unbelievable – then we don’t care about horse racing wrongdoings.

Our purpose at Meet Our Horse Meat also known as MOHM is to raise awareness about the brutal and needless slaughtering of horses – and we care about horses regardless of whether they are domestic or wild.

At MOHM we would like you to know that when you hijack posts we make about thoroughbreds or any racehorses dying in a race and claim that we don’t care about Brumbies, it hurts.  We are insulted.

We understand that people are passionate about Brumbies.  Please know and get that we are passionate about Brumbies too.

We’ve donated hours and money to raise awareness about the needless and inhumane massacre of Brumbies.

So much so that some of our regular followers are not following our Facebook page anymore because they think we are sharing too many Brumby posts.

Brumby advocates may also be interested in knowing that one of our team spent 4 weeks, 7 days a week and 20 hour days building out Brumby information on the site you are currently on AND building a stand-alone site ==> https://brumbyfacts.org <==

Her physical and mental health was compromised in the process.

AND although she slowed down a bit – the whole team’s efforts continue.

(She’s better now but it was gruelling and done at breakneck speed.  The work was accomplished with very special thanks to several advocates who also gave generously of their time by providing information and helping round out her “Brumby education”.)

The hope was having an educational site and SPENDING MONEY on advertising and driving traffic to that site would prevent the slaughter from starting (and now continuing) in the northern part of the Kosciusko National Park.

The money spent on advertising and raising awareness about the Brumby bloodbath did NOT come from donations — it came directly out of our founder’s pocket.

Our team’s efforts have NOT stopped there.

So please do not insult us by accusing us of ONLY caring about racehorses.

We suspect that some of the people constantly hijacking posts about racehorses are actually from the INVASIVE SPECIES COUNCIL and are deliberately trying to give Brumby supporters a bad name.

Other comments on the page have referred to Brumby advocates as ‘nutters’ – this is insulting to MOHM and to Brumby supporters.

The ISC does their best to infiltrate Brumby groups and cause division.

We are putting the ISC on notice that this strategy will not work on MOHM or Brumby Facts.
