SO-CALLED RACING INDUSTRY BIG-SHOTS MAKE RECRUITING ANTI-RACING ADVOCATES EASIER THAN EVER
Following along with us recently? You’ll likely remember this…
Thoroughbred horse trainer Gai Waterhouse – see video below – states “Accidents happen in any sport”. She also states “People have become so weak and prissy nowadays“. Again, see the video below.
Around the time of Gai’s speech on March 30, 2023 TWO racehorses died, Florescent Star (March 18, 2023) and the day before her speech — Temple of Artemis (March 29, 2023)

APRIL 24, 2023 – A JOCKEY DIED.
______
MOHM: Not to diminish the death of jockeys on the track – or off – the difference when it comes to the so-called “sport” of horse racing is that horses do not have a choice. Human athletes have a choice as to whether to train and compete, horses do NOT.
MOHM: Retired human athletes who “age out” of competition, or have career-ending injuries, or are not big money earners are NOT slaughtered…
Yet, in horse racing, unwanted horses are referred to as wastage and race horses are slaughtered by the thousands each and every year.
Horses AND jockeys die on and at the track each year.
Do a quick Google search and see how many racehorses have died in Australia so far in 2023.
Oh, and a hint.
We’ve posted a fraction of the horse deaths on our “kick up for racing” facts/blog page. We don’t have enough hours in the day to keep up with all the racing wrongdoings.
One other thing, if it is “weak and prissy” to care about horses then we freely admit that we are “weak and prissy” — and proud to be so.
Who’s with us?

APRIL 20, 2023: GAI DECIDED TO DOUBLE DOWN
A recent headline from Racenet: ‘Most of them are on the dole’: Gai blasts ‘woke’ activists.
Here’s a few snippets from the article.
Gai Waterhouse has passionately doubled down on her blitz against anti-racing crusaders, saying the ‘woke’ brigade are sprouting a ‘load of rubbish‘.
In an interview with News Corp, racing’s first lady says people who protest against racing are mostly on the dole and don’t know even what they are protesting against.
The legendary Waterhouse insists racing needs to better highlight its love and care of racehorses and launch a fightback against the ill-informed activists.
“Most of them are on the dole, they don’t understand it,” Waterhouse said, of anti-racing crusaders.
All we have to say is congratulations anti-racing advocates your efforts are paying off. You have the horse racing industry looking over their shoulders and worried — because you are raising awareness about the wrongdoings of the horse racing industry.
We’ll keep updating Meet Our Horse Meat and blog posts as quickly as possible as the litany of reasons not to support the racing industry continues to grow.
P.S. We should add the list of horse racing wrongdoings reported on racing industry sites like Racenet is so long that we can’t possibly post them all.
Maybe if we were as Gai states “on the dole” we’d have more time but we have jobs and businesses and not-for-profit and charitable work that keep us busy outside of our advocacy with Meet Our Horse Meat.

#MOHM NEEDS YOUR HELP!
We’ve been threatened by those in the horse racing industry and those who benefit from horse slaughter more times than we can count.
But we are not going away.
We are going to persist until horse slaughter no longer exists for any purpose within Australia -- and until the horse racing industry makes drastic changes.
We are going to continue our hands-on work to offer lifelong sanctuary to as many horses as possible. We generally have 20 at just one of our locations - at any given time.
We have the acreage to take on more horses as financial support allows.
