RSPCA COMPLICIT – IGNORING THEIR OWN PROTOCOLS

534 wild horses, including  foals, have been shot from helicopters in Kosciuszko National Park, NSW, Australia in just 15 days.

And yes, even babies are being massacred from helicopters.

DEATHS ARE NOT INSTANTANEOUS.

That horrific number doesn’t include over 300 Brumbies slaughtered in previous weeks.

The massacre is ongoing and scheduled to escalate April 4, 2024.

If you are just hearing about what’s happening with the current Brumby massacre – please start here.

One of the most frequently asked questions about the long drawn out deaths of wild horses during this massacre is…

Where is the RSPCA while this inhumane slaughtering of wild horses is happening?  Surely they must be taking action against these barbaric slaughters.

That’s a very good question.

It appears that even though the RSPCA’s own Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) when it comes to shooting horses is NOT being followed – the RCPCA have NOT spoken out and are NOT taking action.

Quite the opposite, they are accused of being complicit.

RSPCA COMPROMISED AS A “PERSON OF INTEREST”?

[Emma Hurst’s] comments follow the news two Snowy Mountains residents had last weekend lodged a cruelty complaint with the NSW RSPCA following the recent discovery of three fresh horse carcasses in the Pilot Wilderness Region with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, which marked a departure from the RSPCA’s aerial shooting standard operating practices (SOPs) which dictate only head (brain) or chest (heart/lung) shots.

Shooting to other parts of the body, the RSPCA SOPs state, is unacceptable.

The report further alleged the aerial shooting operations took place in weather characterised by heavy fog and light rain, in contravention of the SOPs, which stipulate, for safety reasons, that shooting from a helicopter cannot be done in adverse weather conditions.

It is understood the shooting took place on 14 March.

RSPCA NSW said in this matter, the informant implicated RSPCA NSW as the person of interest and due to this, RSPCA NSW referred the matter to NSW Police immediately.

The police said there was no police investigation of the complaint.

Nationals MLC Wes Fang said the RSPCA was deficient in its oversight over the NPWS’s aerial shooting operations by not insisting cameras be used to monitor all activity and it should pull its support for the SOPs.

EXPERT TESTIMONY PROVES TORTUOUS  DEATHS

While spokespeople for Australia's National Parks and politicians like Labour Minister Penny Sharpe have defended aerial shooting of Brumbies as humane, we urge you to consider recent testimony presented during a NSW Animal Welfare Committee public hearing/investigation.

The investigation focused on the proposed aerial cull of wild horses in Kosciuszko National Park (KNP).

However, concerns have been raised as there was already a "trial" cull during foaling season, tragically resulting in the deaths of foals - yes, baby horses were slaughtered.

In the video above, Ms. Ward cites a specific instance where horses were pursued by 3 helicopters and shot for a total of 9 minutes.

Additionally, she states that most of the shots didn't immediately render the horses insensible - deaths were slow, required multiple shots and were certainly NOT humane.

Shooting of our beloved wild heritage horses is set to continue at an accelerated pace on April 4th.  Please take action before our Brumbies are gone forever.
