HORSE RACING INDUSTRY “RACING POST” PUBLISHES STUDY RESULTS
We recently tweeted:
One of the responses was a tweet from Sandy Bayley whose profile states: Fair horse racing advocate. Anti desperadoes who hurt horses with drugs.
Meet Our Horse Meat writes: Recently pro-horse racing advocates within Australia have taken to stating “Fact-checked & peer-reviewed”.
Well, we sometimes have to laugh, because advocating for the safety and well-being of horses against those who are pro-racing and seeing nothing wrong with what is currently happening doesn’t even feel like a fair fight.

AS REPORTED ON HORSE RACING’S OWN RACING POST…
Issue of increased inbreeding ‘akin to global warming’ claims new research. Study says the problem could weaken overall population fertility and health.

“The resultant paper, published last week in the peer-reviewed journal Scientific Reports, analysed the DNA of more than 10,000 thoroughbreds, the largest set of horses examined to date, and established that there has been a highly significant rise in inbreeding over the last 45 years.
… 97 per cent of horses in the study tracing to Northern Dancer, 35 per cent of European horses having Sadler’s Wells in their pedigree and 55 per cent of Australian horses having Danehill in their pedigree.

#MOHM THREATENED?
We’ve been threatened by those in the horse racing industry and those who benefit from horse slaughter more times than we can count.
But we are not going away.
We are going to persist until horse slaughter no longer exists for any purpose within Australia -- and until the horse racing industry makes drastic changes.
We are going to continue our hands-on work to offer lifelong sanctuary to as many horses as possible. We generally have 20 at just one of our locations - at any given time.
We have the acreage to take on more horses as financial support allows.
