TAKE ACTION – USE YOUR VOICE

Greyhound racing is not just a “dog issue.”

Horse racing is not just a “horse issue.”

They are both manifestations of a broader system that:

breeds for profit,

discards without accountability,

and resists meaningful reform by invoking tradition,
sport, and entertainment.

Understanding greyhound racing (learn more here) helps expose the same structural failures that underpin the global horse-meat trade.

COPY & PASTE LETTER (FEEL FREE TO SHARE!)

Subject: Urgent Animal Welfare Concerns in Greyhound Racing Dear [Name], I am writing as a concerned constituent regarding ongoing animal welfare issues within the greyhound racing industry. Independent welfare organisations have identified systemic problems including overbreeding, high injury and death rates, lack of transparent lifetime tracking, and conflicts of interest in regulation. These issues closely mirror those seen in horse racing and other commercial animal industries. I urge you to support meaningful reform that prioritises animal welfare over gambling revenue and industry protection, including independent oversight, transparent reporting, and an end to public funding for practices that cause harm. Australia’s reputation for animal welfare depends on the decisions being made now. Sincerely, [Your Name] [Your City / State]

#MOHM THREATENED?

We’ve been threatened by those in the horse racing industry and those who benefit from horse slaughter more times than we can count.

But we are not going away.

We are going to persist until horse slaughter no longer exists for any purpose within Australia -- and until the horse racing industry makes drastic changes.

We are going to continue our hands-on work to offer lifelong sanctuary to as many horses as possible.  We generally have 20 at just one of our locations - at any given time.

We have the acreage to take on more horses as financial support allows.
